Believe me, I definitely have my own problems and issues. And I don't always get along with my Mom. For a period of some years, I didn't usually get along very well with her at all (when I was living at "home" with Mom and Dad.)
If we understand that "they" want to kill "us," before reacting, "we" must ask why it is that "they" want to kill "us."
"We" all must as why "we" (as in our own government or polluting industries) want to kill us and put "us" in harm's way.
Killing other human beings is never the right thing to do. But "we" must ask what it is that has driven someone to want to kill another human being.
Have "they" been oppressed, exploited, or simply just "kicked into the gutter of existence" by "us?"
In the case of Iraq, things have gotten so much worse in that country since the US government invaded and occupied it, millions of Iraqis have lost their homes, their loved ones or their lives. Many live without access to proper sanitation, fuel, electricity health care, education, etc.
The US has destroyed the civilian infrastructure in Iraq. In some areas people are afraid to leave their homes.
Might that make some of "them" want to kill "us?"
I think it is only appropriate to right those wrongs, to make reparations, and see if that quells the urge to kill "us."
I love this original more:) and I envy you and ur Mom.
ReplyDeleteJ.
Why (or what) do you envy (about) us?

If all that I understand is that "they" want to kill "us," then I lack the necessary understanding to attain peace.
ReplyDeleteIf peace is truly the goal, then a greater understanding is required.
