  1. I sure am glad that you're such a shutterbug! Pictures often say more than mere words AND your photos serve as a documented history of the various peace efforts in the region.

can you explain hamas using this school as a weapons launchpad and storage area for weapons and explosives? Or are the evil gun zionists making all this up?

  3. Israel's weapons are good, Hamas's weapons are bad—is that what I am hearing?

I am not defending Hamas's use of rockets. In fact, I think the rocket launches are counter-productive to the achievement of security and economic stability for Gazans.

But I will, and I do, VIGOROUSLY defend the Palestinian people against the intolerance, racism, oppression, tyranny, and aggression waged systematically against them over so many years by the state of Israel.

Gazans are confined in an open air prison. Israel (and Egypt) control everything going in or out. Offshore waters are under the control of Israel. The airspace is under control of Israel. Have you seen the walls, with the observation towers? Talk about intimidating!

The popular myth is that Israel has to treat Palestinians this way, or else Palestinians would react by destroying Israel. But I don't think that's true.

The truth that I see is that Palestinians are only angry now that they have been subjected to such discrimination and poor treatment—treated like second class citizens and undesirables.

It's wonderful that Jews have a homeland in Israel. What needs to happen, for me, for many others like me, and for the Palestinian people, is to recognize that their homeland, the "Jewish Homeland," was populated with a native people before they arrived. If they can't learn to co-exist, then Israel will be committing the same egregious crimes that Americans have committed over the last hundreds of years against Native Americans.

  4. Berd my question involved the use of a SCHOOL as a launchpad and storage area for weapons. Is that a correct action or not? Is it justified for Hamas to wage their war on Israel using schools? Using human shields? By using civilian infrastructure to wage war? Is this correct?

I'll address your other points when you address this one.

  5. I am not defending the use of the school, if that's indeed the case. I watched your video. It was produced by the Israeli Defense Force - the same organization that is currently waging a war of aggression against Gaza.

Therefore, I do not trust the video as a source of information.

Why are Palestinians launching rockets into Israel? I will tell you why. It is because of how Israel has treated the Palestinian people. It is because of years of systematic abuses and oppression. If the Israelis want true security and peace, then they will have to learn how to treat the Palestinians with respect, and as equals.

So long as Palestinians are subjected to oppression, there will always be resistance in one form another. Hopefully it will not be violent. But Israel will never have peace so long as it treats the Palestinians as though they are inferior.

Stop the cruel and degrading treatment. Sit down and talk with Hamas. It is Israel which will not talk. Hamas is willing.

  6. Berd, let me put it this way. Have you seen Hamas DENY charges that the UN school was being used as a weapons storage and staging area?

Hamas' own charter denies the value of talks, and calls for Jihad or holy war. Have you found any evidence to refute that?

What will it take to convince you that Hamas is an organization that exists to destroy Israel and wage Jihad?

I know it is fashionable among the left to dislike Israel, but isn't denying hard facts going a bit far?

Yes Israel is waging a particularly brutal war, but so is Hamas, and they are using human shield on their end.

Egypt is also blockading Hamas, yet I don't see long winded diatribes condemning Egypt for their role in the "humanitarian crisis".

Palestine could have peace if they wanted it. End the attacks on Israel, and do away with the Jihadist government they currently have.

  7. Steve, I don't believe you. If Hamas wants to make a statement that they don't use human shields, how could they?

    Here Steve. Please read this:

From Democracy Now! 40+ Killed in Israeli Strike on Gaza School Sheltering Refugees

AMY GOODMAN: Tuesday marked one of the deadliest days in Gaza since Israel’s offensive began twelve days ago, with more than 130 people killed in bombings and mortar fire. In the bloodiest attack, at least forty Palestinians died after Israel fired mortars at a United Nations school that was housing refugees. Fifty-five Palestinians were wounded. Doctors said all the victims were civilians, including many children.

Israel admitted to firing mortar rounds at the school but claimed its actions were justified because Hamas militants were using the school to fire rockets. But the UN said there were no militants at the school.

    ...

For God's sake Steve--don't swallow the military machine propaganda line of a state that is actively prosecuting a war against a population, which it has actively been oppressing for decades!

Wake up and smell the coffee man!

  8. I simply and flatly do not believe that Hamas is an organization that "exists to destroy Israel and wage Jihad." Actually, I think that statement is absolutely offensive, inaccurate and a propaganda myth that you have wrongly ingested.

Purge yourself of the establishment propaganda man. It's toxic. You're contaminated!
